This week, the Head of the Department for Children's and Youth Rights attended the ENOC board meeting in Brussels and held discussions with the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Eva Kopacz, the European Commission's Children's Rights Coordinator, Marie-Cécile Rouillon, and the President of Eurochild, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca.
During the meetings, ENOC's positions on the rights of children in alternative care were presented, emphasizing that the experiences of children and young people should be given greater consideration in the organization of alternative care, allowing them to participate more actively in shaping their own lives.
ENOC Chair and Finnish Ombudsperson for Children, Elina Pekkarinen, delivered a presentation at a joint session of the European Parliament's Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and the Committee on Legal Affairs, where she highlighted the experiences and proposals of children and young people with experience in alternative care regarding its organization.
