Olari Koppel assumes post as director of Office of Chancellor of Justice

Taking up the post of director of the Office of the Chancellor of Justice today is Olari Koppel, who until recently was the head of the Estonian Cooperation Assembly.

“Olari’s already proven himself as an effective and creative manager, so it’s no surprise he won the open competition for this position,” said Chancellor of Justice Ülle Madise. “He’s well-versed in both internal and external policy and knows how to get people working together to achieve the same goals.”

Koppel has previously worked at the Office of the President of the Republic and the Government Office and as an adviser to a Member of the European Parliament. He graduated from the University of Tartu with a degree in journalism in 1995 and before working as both a foreign and senior editor on the Postimees newspaper and as the editor-in-chief of Luup magazine.

Alo Heinsalu, the previous director of the Office of the Chancellor of Justice, took up the post of director of the Office of the President of the Republic at the start of April.
